Lleonso (pronounced "yon-so") digs wells for a living when that kind of work is available.  He descends into the well hole, passing buckets of dirt up via rope and pulley to two men and a horse topside.

He's 52 years old and has been in the well business for 30 years.  He dug his first well on his own for need of water.  He's married with four children and a bunch of grandchildren.

Lleonso gave us a generous gift of some pitahaya from his home, which is part of the pitahaya that's now growing at Finca Buenpaisillo.
