Sheep Dreamzzz is part of Sheep Not Goats, a 501(c) (3) charitable organization helping people in the poorest country in Central America to feed their families through the work of their hands. We trained a small group of women to knit beautiful baby blankets and they receive all of the net proceeds. visit our site

New Blankets
We just returned from 2 weeks in Nicaragua with some very nice blankets that we've never offered before. Here they are (click any image to go to that blanket on the Sheep Dreamzzz site):
The one above, Coffee Milk, and the 2 that follow use a new yarn that is 60% cotton and produces a blanket with a lightweight, elegant feel. They are in a category we call Cotton Elegance on our site. You won't see many pinks and blues here as we are focusing on more modern, earthy colors.
This one we're calling Platinum Gray. These blankets have an elegant, almost lacey, feel to them. It takes more stitches to complete one, but the result is well worth it.
Comfort Chunky
We already had 3 colors in this category, and have added 4 more, which you can see here.
The one above is called Raspberry Coulis. These are really soft, chunky-weight blankets that are proving to be a great replacement for those made with Angel and Capri yarns (our original yarns, both discontinued).
Here's a nice comfy blanket, enjoyed by our grandson Luke. The color is Barley.
Here's Luke again with one we're calling Olive Gold. A tough color to name; the other option was Dijon!
We're not focusing on pinks and blues here, but when we were running out of yarn in Nicaragua earlier this year we had to dip into some yarn reserved for the future.
One Last One
We made a few blankets with gray sheep when we temporarily ran out of white sheep yarn. Not a bad alterative to pink and blue on a white blanket, especially if something gender-neutral is desired. This is a Snug as a Bug blanket with 40% wool, machine washable.
Price Reductions (mostly)
As we move on to newer yarns and colors, we've reduced the prices of most of the blankets that we've been selling for a while (including our original Angel blankets). Most are now $65, some $60. In many cases we simply can't purchase those yarns any longer.

Knitters Coming to the US
Maria received her visa last Friday and just this morning Brenda was at the embassy in Managua for her 6:45AM appointment. Over two hours later we received word that she will be coming with Maria to support our booth at the World Discipleship Summit in Orlando in early August.
That's Maria on the left, followed by Brenda, Carla, and Sandy, taken in February 2020 with the US embassy in Managua in the background.
This is a really big deal for us as both (plus Carla) were all set to come in 2020 and then COVID struck. We want people to see them knitting and also interact with them and learn about life in Nicaragua. They'll be able to attend classes and also help process transactions in our booth (#101 - can't miss it). And prior to the conference they will help us prepare and package the hundreds of blankets that we already have in the US.
Want to Help?
We really do need their help at the conference, but this is also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity Brenda and Maria to experience the love and fellowship of all the Orlando goers and also to spend time with us in Florida, all along the way sharing about their work with Sheep Not Goats / Sheep Dreamzzz and how it is helping them to feed their families in Central America's worst economy. They are very much part of our message and we hope that their presence will lead to more sales and more donations.
It will be another week before we know Brenda's authorized travel dates, and then we need to book air travel for both, at about $1000 apiece. If you want to help with that, or to give them a little spending money for the time they are here, please reach out to us. We'll direct you to the Sheep Not Goats web site where it's easy to contribute any amount. If you have extra airline miles you'd like to share, that would be another way to help.

Here's Maria (de los Angeles Medina Carvajal) out with Raúl delivering Christmas toys for us a few years back. Maria oversees all of the knitting work when we're in the US, handles all of the money of the non-profit in Nicaragua, and is in charge of the weekly breakfasts served to the seniors in the Malpaisillo community.

We're hoping to offer a 100% organic blanket and tried out a new yarn while in Nicaragua. Argentina made the blanket below.
The blanket is beautiful but we're still trying to get a (much) better price on the yarn. This one isn't on our site but costs $88. If you are interested, just reach out.
